Huang Mei Gui oolong tea, also known as yellow rose oolong tea, is a very young type of Wu Yi oolong tea which was first produced around the year of 2002. It is from Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian, China. Most of Huang Mei Gui oolong is cultivated at an altitude of about 800 m above sea level.
The tea has a dark green color with a thin white frosted coat on the surface. The brewed tea is very light green in color with a highly aromatic fragrance and a lighter floral taste.
Like other oolongs, it can be infused 4-6 times. It will be a good choice for afternoon tea or brunch.
