Tieluohan, also called Iron Arhat, is also one of the best oolong teas. It is also a member of Si Da Ming Cong, the four famous Wuyi Oolong tea bushes which include Da Hong Pao, Bai Ji Guan, Shui Jin Gui and Tieluohan.
The tea comes from the Wuyi Mountain region of Northern Fujian in China. Legend goes that originally, the tea was created by an arhat with golden-bronze skin, so it got the name of Iron Arhat Oolong tea.
The leaves of the tea are weighty, close-textured twists with deep black-brown color. It is strong yet refreshing and has a lasting aftertaste along with a floral fragrance. The tea can be infused 7 to 10 times.
