Dong Fang Mei Ren Oolong Tea

Dong Fang Mei Ren, known as oriental beauty in English, is one of the finest oolongs from Taiwan. It is also commonly known as bai hao oolong (Bai hao means white or silver tips.) due to its unique appearance of the tea leaves, with almost dark in color but ends with a silvery tip.

It originated from Xinzhu County, Taiwan. The humid and foggy area provides the perfect natural environmental conditions to create the special characteristics of bai hao.

The name of oriental beauty was given by Queen Elizabeth II in the early 20th century when she had the tea for the first time.

The tea leaves are picked during the summer and will undergo heavy oxidation and withering processes. The color of the brewed tea is reddish-gold with a rich and strong honeyed note liquor.

There are many health benefits to drinking Dong Fang Mei Ren oolong tea, including weight loss, teeth strengthening, combating the aging of skin, etc.

Its taste is gentle, sweet, yet floral at time. The after taste is a tad nutty but pleasant. Worth a try.
