Rou Gui Oolong

Rou Gui, also called Cassia Oolong, Wu Yi Cassia Oolong, Bohea Cassia, Yu Gui or Jade Cassia Oolong, is a one of the most famous Wuyi oolongs. It also belongs to the most famous oolong tea group. Rou Gui, along with Tie Luo Han, Shui Jin Gui, Da Hong Pao and Bai Ji Guan are called Wuyi’s five famous bushes.

The tea was first produced during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In Chinese, the name of Rou Gui means cinnamon. It got the name because it has a cinnamon-like aroma.

It has dark and slightly curled tea leaves. The brewed tea is amber and has a strong fruity aroma with a long lasting, sweet after-taste.

The tea can be brewed up to 7 steepings.

There are many health benefits to drinking Rou Gui oolong tea, including weight loss, teeth strengthening, combating the aging of skin, etc.

    I love the unique flavor of this tea. Earthy, with a sweetness that fades to foral. Different from many oolongs in its aroma and its lasting quality.
